Heshan City Donggu Flavouring&food Co., Ltd. (東古) is currently located at No. 3, Maishui Industrial zone, Gulao Town, Heshan City, Guangdong. It was originally founded in the 30th year of the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty (1850) as the Diao Zhen Sauce Garden and is one of the first "Chinese Time-Honored Brands" recognized by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China. Originally located in Gulao Market, Gulao Town, Heshan County, it was a well-known folk sauce food workshop with a history of over 170 years. After the liberation, it was established as the state-owned Heshan County Soy Sauce Factory. In 1996, it underwent a system reform and became Heshan City Sauce Food Co., Ltd. In 2001, it was approved by the municipal Administration for Industry and Commerce to be renamed Heshan City Donggu Flavouring&food Co., Ltd.. It has now developed into a sizable production base for seasonings, expanding from soy sauce and fermented soybean paste to over 100 different products, classified into seven major categories: brewed soy sauce, fermented tofu, vinegar, sauces, seasonings, fruit jams, and pickled vegetables.
